Taking the Leap

Hello, world! I have been waiting a LONG time to connect with you and am excited to finally take this leap. As a wife, mom of 3, CEO of the household, and a career woman, it seems my life is a movie reel of stories, often times more like a comedy of errors… And I’m hoping I can share them with you, and that they’ll serve as a resource.
I’ve run the gamut of what some would call to be mishaps in my life (Surprise, you’re a mom at 19! …for starters) and have done very little by the proverbial book. Ironically, I believe the successes I have enjoyed have been a direct result of being forced to put in hard and messy work to get to the goal. BTW, being a young mom is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Anyway, the point is, I’m stubborn. And competitive. And am a self-proclaimed put-too-much-on-my-plate’er. Along the way, I have learned a lot about our tendencies. We are all wired differently, but the one thing we have in common is the desire to succeed. What success looks like for you might be completely different than what it looks like for the person next to you, but at the end of the day all we’re driving toward the goal of fulfillment, happiness, and the ability to be our whole selves in the areas we spend most of our time – at work. My goal is to equip you with the tools and resources to feel confident and competent in your career journey.

Ok, wait… I commit to being transparent, vulnerable and honest with you here. So this is actually our first attempt at the family picture on our front porch. Do all families struggle to get a group pic together? Oh the eye-rolls…
Everything I do is centered on YOU
Do you sometimes feel like you’re a COMPLETE MESS, while everyone seems to have their life figured out? Do people ask you what you’re good at or what motivates you, and you draw blanks when trying to answer? How do you plan for an interview, confident that you’ll nail every question when you have no clue what they might ask? And at the heart of the matter, do you know, that you know, that you know, that you belong?
I had a fulfilling 20-year career in corporate America working up the ranks from the emergency call center Spanish language line to eventually serving as the Chief of Staff to our President of Technology. In that last role I was blessed with the opportunity to lead our Women in Technology efforts, ensuring our company was conducive to women in their roles, while helping ladies achieve their career goals. That is where I found my passion. I would obsess on how someone’s interview went, or their request for a raise, or a tough conversation with their boss. I was told I was good at it, too. So that’s what lead me down this path to becoming a certified career coach.
In a world where we must work for a living, I’m making it my job to ensure you find fulfillment in yours. Whether you believe it or not, you DO belong, and I’m going to help you see and live that as your truth. I commit to you a vulnerable, transparent and intimidation-free environment to support your journey.
In addition to delivering one-on-one and corporate group coaching, each week I’ll publish an article with advice on how to conquer the battle in front of you. I’d LOVE for you to share with me what you’d like to hear more about, or how I can be of best service to you along the way. Relationships require communication in both directions, so I’m always open! Please leave a reply below or reach out via any of the options on my contact page.
Lastly – I’m sure you’ve noticed the connection to golf. Golf provides many career networking opportunities, and my mission is to grow the number of us on the course. Stick with me and we’ll drive our passions forward together. Don’t forget, YOU’VE GOT GAME!
Tips from the Tips: Golf Insight for Ladies w/ Drive
What are “tips”, anyway? In golf, the first shot at each hole is hit from the tee box, which are set at different distances back from the hole, or green. Typically, ladies’ tees are closer since we don’t usually hit the ball as far. The “tips” are just the opposite; the tee box furthest from the hole where the pros would tee off from. My daddy always said, if you have an advantage, take it. So for now, I’ll keep hitting from the reds 😉
